History of Indiana First Bank

Indiana First Bank has a rich history that began in Indiana County in 1922.

Initially organized as a Pennsylvania chartered mutual thrift, Indiana County Building and Loan Association was located in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street in Indiana, PA. In 1943 a conversion to a federally charted Savings & Loan began and we became known as First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Indiana.

In 1973, First Federal Savings moved into the first floor of the current Main Office location at 935 Philadelphia Street.

Beginning in 1994 a conversion was approved by members of First Federal Savings to become a state chartered mutual savings bank. This is when the current name of Indiana First Savings Bank originated.

Since 1994 Indiana First Bank has been growing and reaching out to other business sectors. In 1995 a commercial lending program began, which is now a full service lending department. In 2002, InFirst Financial Advisors, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the bank was formed to provide investment, asset management, brokerage, trust and insurance services to complement the product offerings of Indiana First Bank.

Several branch offices have also become part of the Indiana First Bank footprint. In 1996 a branch office was opened at the Townfair location, along Ben Franklin Road in Indiana. A branch office was opened in Punxsutawney in 2002 along with an office in Burrell Township in 2004 and a full-service branch in Johnstown in May 2015.

Lending offices have extended Indiana First Bank's reach even further into Southwestern Pennsylvania. In 2008 a Lending Office was opened in Johnstown, while Somerset joined in 2011 and Greensburg in 2014.

Throughout Indiana First Bank's growth and development one thing has remained consistent, "Banking. Simple. Trusted."
